Back by popular demand, please join SCDNR and USFWS staff for the Bats and Transportation Structures (B.A.T.S) training. This one-day, hands-on event will focus on the proper methods for surveying culverts and bridges for bats and bat evidence. This training will explore some unique culverts and common bridge types found in the upstate. Register by November 27.
*Please note that this event is being facilitated by SCDNR and SCDOT. All registration fees collected by NAEP-SC will go to SCDNR. There is no registration cost for SCDOT staff, government agency staff, or university students. The costs for all others is $103.20 ($100 + $3.20 process/transaction fees).
Typical supplies needed may include a change of clothes, change of shoes (to prevent possible contamination of floormats), warm jackets, reflective vests, spotlights/headlamps, rubber boots/waders, caving helmets/hard hats, spray/wipe ethanol (90%) for wiping down gear, water/snacks, clipboard/device to fill out survey123.
While details are still being confirmed by SCDNR, this workshop will focus on the Upstate area and will likely begin at a site in the Greenville/Traveler’s Rest area. More details coming soon.
