SCDOT, one of the biggest coordinators with SHPO, is teaming up with SHPO to teach us about Section 106 and policy and procedures related to cultural resources. Topics will include:

Who is SHPO and what is their role?
What is Section 106 and what triggers it?
What types of surveys are required?
What is required if there are impacts to cultural resources?
What processes and policies does SCDOT use to ensure 106 compliance?
How does SCDOT coordinate with SHPO and FHWA?
Recent SCDOT project examples and impact mitigation
